A Revamped Fleming Favorite
The latest addition to the Fleming fleet is the Fleming 60. This model is essentially a rework of the popular Fleming 58 with a few standout adjustments to aft. Notable new features the Fleming 60 incorporates include: a raised California deck with a built-in settee and fixed table, and space below deck for crew quarters with a wet head.
The extended cockpit of the Fleming 60 features a raised California deck equipped with a large forward-facing settee, wide fixed table, and additional on-deck storage compartments. This elevated area takes full advantage of the extended cockpit by providing a permanent alfresco dining solution. Inspired by the Fleming 85 cockpit design, this raised California deck arrangement is also available as an option on the Fleming 65. Overhead, the extended aft boat deck gives coverage to the California deck and allows for more space and a larger tender at the boat deck above.
The additional height engineered into the existing Fleming 58 mold, in combination with the Fleming 60’s raised California deck and extended cockpit length, allows for the option of crew quarters below deck. The lazarette area, just aft of the stand-up engine room, of the Fleming 60 is transformed into a livable crew area fit with a single bunk and wet head. Storage is found through various cabinets and natural light is provided via openable port holes. Access to the crew quarters can be found from the engine room access hatch aft of the salon doors, and through the dedicated crew entrance hatch by the transom.
Beyond the slight increase in LOA, the new cockpit arrangement, and crew quarters – the Fleming 60 is largely the same boat as the Fleming 58. They share the same layout options throughout the rest of the vessel, and both feature a beam of 17’6”. Interior accommodations can support a full beam mid-ship master layout or emulate the classic Fleming central passage layout with a forward master cabin.
The Fleming 60 in no way replaces the Fleming 58. Instead, it is an advancement of the 58 that incorporates popular features from the larger Fleming models. For those looking to add dedicated crew quarters and a more robust cockpit arrangement to the already tried and true Fleming 58, then the Fleming 60 is the model for you.
