Entering from the aft cockpit deck you are immediately greeted with the capacious salon dressed in teak. Featuring the timeless appeal of teak sole with holly accents, vast windows, teak cabinetry, luxurious ultra-leather headliner, and most importantly, an interior layout that balances form with function. The 17’6” beam provides space for a large settee at port side and additional settee to starboard to comfortably seat seven, while still allowing room enough to easily move about. Dining and entertaining guests becomes an effortless experience with an open floor plan encompassing the salon and galley. This layout allows for an open social environment while keeping the function of the galley separated from the rest of the salon.

Along the port side of the salon is an L-shaped settee anchored by a wine cooler and storage at the aft corner. Complimenting the port settee is a custom teak hi-lo table that can adjust in height to function as both a coffee or a dining table. The starboard side includes an additional 3-seat extended settee with an entertainment cabinet found to the aft corner featuring a 40” HD TV installed on a retractable lift.

A guest head is located to starboard, adjacent to the forward cabin with access from both the hallway lobby and the forward stateroom. The full-sized Bosch Axxis washer & separate dryer can be found to port in the accommodations lobby just before the forward cabin. Each of the staterooms feature custom Handicraft mattresses.

The mid-ship master stateroom takes full advantage of the full 17’6” beam and features a king-sized island berth that allows access from either side and can raise up with an hydraulic lift to access storage and a hidden safe beneath. A storage credenza resides to starboard, along with an large walk-in closet that takes advantage of the space beneath the accommodation steps. Meanwhile another dresser is found along the port side which, in addition to the cabinets, shelving, and hanging lockers at either side, provides more than enough storage for the cabin. Nightstands are located to either side of the central berth and add to the already expansive storage options of the master. At the forward wall is a mounted 32” HD TV and to the port-side forward corner of the cabin you will find access to the en-suite master head.

Both the master and guest heads are exceptionally spacious with generous glass and stainless steel shower enclosures. Granite countertops compliment the matching granite floor and shelving in the one piece molded fiberglass shower stalls.

The VIP stateroom to forward is composed of a queen sized island berth surrounded by shelves, cabinets, drawers, and his & hers hanging lockers to each side. Similar to the island king in the master stateroom, this arrangement allows for ease of access from either side and the entire berth can be raised with a hydraulic lift to access a storage cavity underneath. A wall-mounted 22” HD TV is found to port and overhead is a large skylight / escape hatch which provides great natural light to the cabin.

Access door for the guest head is at the starboard-side of the accommodations lobby, across from which is the port-side guest stateroom. This guest head can also be accessed from the forward VIP. This final stateroom is equipped with twin berths in a bunk arrangement. A mounted mirror is located to the forward wall and storage opportunities can be found through drawers & cabinets in the cabin.

In many modern yacht designs it has become commonplace to eliminate the inside steering station, but the Fleming 58, as with all Flemings, features a dedicated pilothouse which closely resembles the bridge of a much larger vessel. This dedicated pilothouse takes the role as the primary location to control the boat without any distractions from other onboard activities. However, it remains only three short steps up from the salon & galley and it is only another five interior steps up to the flybridge.

Visibility forward and wrapping around to port and starboard is excellent. Below the expansive windshield are specially designed removable consoles which provide ample room for a full range of modern electronics and equipment. Overhead consoles provide additional space for instruments and speakers. Engine displays, electrical breakers, fuel management, and other on board systems are handled through the integrated Boning ship monitoring system.

To the aft of the port side resides a raised corner settee with an adjustable teak table providing a comfortable social area with phenomenal visibility while underway. The starboard side of the pilothouse features a dayhead to aft with steps down to the accommodations to forward, just adjacent to the console. To each side of the pilothouse is a sliding door that leads to the walk-around side decks of the Portuguese bridge. A large stainless steel and teak-accented destroyer wheel and Stidd helm chair finish off the pilothouse. Directly aft of the pilothouse helm chair are steps leading up to the flybridge, which is accessed through a stainless steel & glass door and sliding fiberglass hatch.

In common with all Flemings, the hull is hand laid and solid fiberglass reinforced with a grid of stringers and frames. The integrated swim platform extends the waterline which adds to the overall length of the semi-displacement hull for a smoother ride. Vinylester resin, which is used on the cabin sides, is also utilized below the waterline on the hull with further protection provided by epoxy barrier coats. A reasonable five foot draft allows for Bahamas cruising while ensuring that the running gear is protected by a full-length keel which is foam filled and glassed across the top to isolate it from the hull. This keel provides nearly a foot length of protection until the running gear.

On deck she has familiar walk-around decks used on all Fleming models; in combination with high bulwarks and a Portuguese bridge, security for both children and pets is ensured. The capacious cockpit has built-in seating benches to each corner with storage within, perfect for storing lines. A cockpit control station is located starboard of the salon doors while additional storage is to port behind the step ladder that leads up to Flybridge. On the cockpit deck is a gasketed and lockable hatch, just aft of the salon doors that provides access to the engine room and lazarette. At the center of the cockpit deck is another wider hatch equipped with a hydraulic lift that allows extensive access to the spacious lazarette. The transom of the cockpit features a large gate that swings in to allow ingress to the integrated swim platform.

Moving forward along the side decks you will discover entry gates on either side of the cockpit side decks. These gates provide lower entry close to the water line, meanwhile additional gates on either side of the raised Portuguese bridge give the option for a higher point of entry. Up to the bow will bring you to a teak Portuguese bridge and foredeck. The raised non-skid center trunk portion of the foredeck provides three large storage cavities via four hatches, great for dock line storage. Special attention has been paid to the ease and safety in which the heavy duty ground tackle is set and retrieved. The anchor platform accepts two anchors, each of which can be controlled by a handheld unit at the platform or by windlass controls at both the pilothouse and flybridge helm stations.

Superior systems and engineering are key elements for Fleming Yachts, whose philosophy has always been to choose only the best equipment available and have it be readily accessible for maintenance. The 58 provides more headroom below the deck allowing for a true standup engine room which allows plenty of room to service the twin 800 horsepower MAN i6-800 engines. The main engine room access is from an outside hatch just aft of the salon doors. The above salon floor panels can also come apart for greater access to the engine room when needed. To achieve the extremely low sound and vibration that Flemings are known for, Sea Torque bolt on shaft systems transfer the thrust directly to the hull and the engine is isolated by using soft engine mounts. Aft of the engine room, the lazarette houses the water tanks and steering gear while also leaving ample room for storing cruising gear such as deck chairs, spare anchors, rode, lines, fenders, and extra parts.
