Located just south of Annapolis on Chesapeake Bay, is our original Burr Yacht Sales location in Edgewater, Maryland. Since the early 1990s when Burr became an official Fleming dealer, this facility has become solely dedicated to Fleming Yachts. Today our Maryland marina continues to serve our BYS Fleming owners along the East Coast as a premiere one-stop-shop for Fleming sales, service, storage, & training. BYS North is the primary location for all our new Fleming Yacht outfitting – completing close to 250 new Fleming builds and deliveries to date. 

With our iconic big blue roof providing plenty of under-cover Fleming slips, BYS North is an all-year, all-weather destination to see and learn about Fleming Yachts. We present the rare opportunity to step aboard Flemings of every model size and a variety of vintages at one convenient location. Rivaled only by our second marina in South Florida, this is the largest concentration of Fleming Yachts anywhere in the world. 

Unlike most industries, our sales team does not work on an individual commission basis which means that purchasing a Fleming Yacht from Burr Yacht Sales is never a rushed process. Our only concern is making certain that you and your family acquire the right boat for your cruising needs. Easy to visit by car, boat, or plane, both commercial or private, BYS North is nestled in the suburban outskirts of Annapolis – right in between Baltimore and Washington DC. While close to a trio of major areas, BYS North remains isolated from them all on a relaxed suburban peninsula along the South River of the Chesapeake. We have plenty of parking spaces with a large on-site parking lot and a great local area around our marina. Be sure to check the below travel details and recommendations when planning your visit to BYS North.

Flying Commercial:

BWI Airport

  • Located just south of Baltimore, BWI is the best option when flying into the area

Reagan National

  • An alternative airport option in DC

Dulles International

  • An alternative airport option in DC

Flying Private: 

Lee Airport:

  • A smaller local airport just a 10-minute drive from BYS North. Has a runway size of 2,500 by 48 feet. We are happy to pick you up if you need a ride!

Signature Flight Support BWI:

  • An FBO option at BWI Airport. A good option for anything too big for Lee Airport.

Martin State Airport:

  • Another larger option that is north of us in Baltimore. Has a runway size of 7,000 by 180 feet.

Ride Services:

  • Uber, Lyft, and cab services are available in the DC, Baltimore, and Annapolis areas surrounding BYS North. These also make good options when travelling to and from BWI Airport.

Rental Cars:

  • When flying into BWI Airport a variety of rental car options are available including Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, and Avis.
  • If you are looking to pick up or drop off a rental car in the Annapolis area near BYS North – we recommend Enterprise. They have two convenient locations in Annapolis in addition to their presence at BWI Airport.

Amenities of BYS North

Our Maryland marina offers plenty of amenities to our Fleming Yacht customers:

Our marina is designed for Flemings and we can accommodate over 30 Fleming Yachts between our facility and surrounding slips at neighboring marinas.

Over a dozen under-cover slips beneath our iconic big blue roof.

We have a crew dedicated to checking all Fleming Yachts in our care at the end of each workday – including all Flemings docked at neighboring marinas. They check for power, lines, and make sure all doors are locked. Before inclement weather, extra care is provided with additional lines and exterior items are secured or brought inside.

More than a brokerage house, we are a full-service dealership with a mechanical shop, wood shop, varnish/gelcoat department, and expert Fleming technicians on-site.

With a dedicated parts manager on-site and many common Fleming-related items in stock, we are ready to assist. We can also coordinate and ship any parts/items to other locations you may be docked at along your cruising travels.

We offer comprehensive training to buyers of new and used Fleming Yachts purchased from BYS. Need a refresher on launching the tender or using the navigation electronics? We are happy to help!

We have a large on-site parking lot and two overflow lots just a brief walk away. We can also accommodate Fleming owners looking to safely leave a vehicle long-term while they cruise.

A fleet of courtesy vans are available to our BYS owners. Perfect for picking up and dropping off a rental car or making a quick grocery run for the boat.

Cruising in last minute with your Fleming and we don’t have any open slips? Snag one of our mooring balls out in front of our marina. These private moorings are always available to our Fleming Yacht owners. You can launch your tender, cruise to our marina, and borrow a courtesy van to handle any errands on shore.

Our partner company, Red Sky Detailing, has an office on-site and are heralded as Fleming detailing experts. They can handle exterior, interior, and also offer Ceramic Coating services.

The neighboring marina beside us provides a fuel dock and pump out services with a large and accommodating dock.

Our neighboring marina, Anchor Yacht Basin, features an all new travel lift and well capable of lifting all Fleming models. Short hulls are as easy as ever.

BYS North is equipped with clean, luxury heads and a shower for our customers.

History of BYS North

Arthur Burr established Burr Yacht Sales in 1963 and was originally a dealer of Formula and Donzi boats. In 1968 Burr transitioned into a Bertram Yacht dealer which would start a very successful 22-year relationship between Burr Yacht Sales and Bertram. During this Bertram period is when our current Edgewater, Maryland location was purchased, and the company began expanding. In 1991, Burr Yachts Sales became the exclusive East Coast distributor for Fleming Yachts and today BYS is solely dedicated to the sales, service, and outfitting of Fleming Yachts. Our Maryland marina was our only location until 2016 when BYS South was established in Stuart, Florida as our second facility along the East Coast.
